PIC output connected to another device

Postby jdhx » Sat Feb 20, 2010 2:28 pm

> Hi guys

I am designing a circuit where a digital output from a pic (say 16F84) must earth the input to another device. I could use a relay but would prefer an electronics solution. The max current is 20mA.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi. To give you an interim answer to your question, you could use optocouplers/isolaters against using the electromechanical relays. A much more definitive answer will maybe be more possible once learning more of your intended application. Regards
